On the website I looked at how photographers incorporated lens flare in their pictures to add creativity to the picture. In some of the photos, it showed how the lens flare actually enhances the photos, and makes the photo itself.
3.  What did you learn new?
I never knew that lens flare was not acceptable before, because I always see it be used & I use it alot in my own pictures, I thought it was always something people used.
4.   If possible, post your favorite photo from the site.

2.   Briefly describe what you looked at on the website (2-3 sentences, make sure you write enough to really make it clear that you spent time looking at the website).
On this tutorial, they went into detail about how to capture a good set of images spinning around a building or landmark. The tutorial showed techniques to get your photos to actually look like you just walked in a circle and captured great photos, that align with each other.
3.     What did you learn new today? To capture good spinning photos, it would be a wise idea to use google maps to see where good places are to take photos. It is smart to take more than one photo at each location.
a.     How can you use this in my class later? If i ever need to take photos of spinning around a landmark or building, or creating the effect of spinning, i can use this to make my pictures come out great.
b.     Did this expand your knowledge of an Adobe computer program? If so tell me the program’s name is. They used photoshop and google maps in the tutorial.

4. If you had time to try to recreate this with your own image, please post that image on your blog.

2.   Briefly describe what you looked at on the website (2-3 sentences, make sure you write enough to really make it clear that you spent time looking at the website).
On the website, I looked at photos of Cass Tech High, a 4 year prep high school. The school was rebuilt & new additions were added because of a fire that caused the original school to be left in disaster. The new additions and rebuilds to the school made the school bigger and more beautiful.

Cass Tech High has been rebuilt & renewed 4 times since 1919. In the old 1919 building Ford Motor Company used an area of the school for training, but after the school was rebuilt, they no longer used the building.

Magazines Pt 2

Cover types

1. Early Magazine Covers- In the old times, on the covers of magazines there were no pictures, just words. A title and publication information. There were small illustrations on the cover that had nothing to do with what was contained in the magazine, and it resembled mostly like a book cover. Cover lines were not very common in the old days, and most had no cover, resembling a newspaper. Some covers had a lot of text on them.

2. The Poster Cover- Most covers looked as though they should be framed and hung up. There were no cover lines, most of the times the picture on the front may not have even resembled what is in the magazine itself. The object in the covers were the illustrations, saying that one picture means a thousand words, therefore no words need to be said.

3. Pictures Married to Type- In these types of covers, cover lines are the most important thing on the cover to draw attention. The magazines had large titles, pictures and words wrapping around the photos. There is usually a model, or models on the cover. Later more captions were on the pictures and the pictures were actually at least pertaining to one of the articles in the magazine.

4. In the Forest of Word- Bright, bold and lots of colors. Text is covering parts of the bodies of the models. More words on the covers to catch the attention of young readers. Cover lines and cover art are equally represented on the covers. Different font sizes, colors and large headings. Magazine covers today resembles what is going on in the world around us. Whether it be environmental, social, etc.

Favorite

The cover image for a story on new parents over 50 was one of the most talked about of the year and almost too successful in its execution—many readers did not realize that it was a photo illustration. The editors deliberately chose a model representing the extremity of the story's idea, and photographed her in the pose made iconic by Demi Moore on the cover of Vanity Fair, her belly was plumped with a prosthetic pillow, then carefully retouched to look real. The over-the-top poster-like cover was meant to stop you in your tracks—and it did.

This is my favorite cover because the way they made it look like the woman was really pregnant, representing new parents in their older ages. The cover stands out because the woman is naked, and her stomach stands out. Its cool how they can make a pregnancy, kind of an illusion. People would never think that a person that has age will be pregnant, it's shocking to walk down the street & see a picture of an old woman pregnant.  This cover shows how over the time, medical advances has contributed to better health of older people to be able to produce babies.
